Hey, I get it, you were told by somebody that Medium is where to go if you want to make money for writing. Hell, it’s why I came here. I love writing, and what better way to make money and doing something you love?
It wasn’t until I published my first article, I called it daddy’s going to jail again, that I realized, nobody seems to care about actual stories. Everybody is just trying to ride the ever flowing wave to fame.
I see so many authors pouring their hearts out, talking about personal shit, real-life experiences, and they get one clap if that. Meanwhile, the how I make $1000 a month articles, get a gazillion claps, and curated by every genre known to man.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with writing pieces that are giving insight on how to better your writing, but what’s in it for the people who actually have a story to tell? Do we have to have 1 million followers?
It took a month before I started to realize my articles weren’t “good” and that I needed to compromise my style for the sake of that sexy green piece of paper. Dollar dollar bills y’all.
