Did you ever think that maybe she was just an angry old white woman? Obviously, if you joke around about stealing something, anybody is going to be cautious. Maybe she was racist, maybe she wasn’t. I have a half black child as well and the LAST Thing I would want to do is have my child assuming every bitter looking white person is a racist. now, for instances where you can say, without a doubt, this person is racist, then the laughing would probably be the funniest approach ever.
